DURBAN: Proteas coach Mickey Arthur yesterday celebrated the "final piece in the jigsaw for our World Cup campaign".
For Arthur, the most important innings in his team's extraordinary batting performance in the first one-day international against Pakistan at Centurion on Sunday was that of AB de Villiers. "It wasn't the most influential innings in the match, but it was the most important for the team as we prepare for the Caribbean next month."
He also said he felt "very chuffed" that De Villiers at last showed signs of regaining the superb touch he had displayed in Sri Lanka at the beginning of the season.
