Feb. 6--The new owner of the Le Royal Meridien Phuket Yacht Club is spending at least 500 million baht to rejuvenate Phuket's first five-star resort hotel.
The refurbishment, being carried out by Puravarna Holdings, a European property development group, promises to be stylish with an oriental-colonial feel and equipped with the latest technology in guestroom facilities.
All of the hotel's 110 rooms will be fitted with replica furniture licensed from Althorp, the stately country estate in Northamptonshire of the Spencer family since 1508, and the final resting place of Diana, Princess of Wales.
