Feb. 6--Trader Joe's on Monday announced its second entry into Oakland, ending a year of speculation of what would become of the former Albertsons site in the Rockridge neighborhood. The store is slated to open in late 2007 at 5727 College Ave., said Alison Mochizuki, Trader Joe's spokeswoman. "Oakland is a great, growing community," she said. "There's a lot of foodies there." The news brings the count to four new stores planned for the East Bay. Trader Joe's announced its first foray into Oakland in October.
