Just as medical technology is becoming more advanced, an increasing number of Americans--and American hospitals--are turning to complementary and alternative medicine (CAM). Nearly 90 percent of seniors surveyed in the Wave of the Health and Retirement Study said they had used CAM, and a recent survey by the American Hospital Association found that more than one in four hospitals offer some type of CAM.
