MOUNT Edgecombe Golf Club is a class act - a golf course combining scenic beauty with a really tough challenge.
It is situated close to the Gateway shopping centre north of Durban, and not far from some of the province's sugar farms - in fact, Mount Edgecombe used to be known as Hulett's Golf Club until the name change some years ago.
In recent years the course has undergone a revamp of sorts with some of the holes getting a face-lift.
In addition, a new course, Mount Edgecombe II, was built.
At Mount Edgecombe I, the ninth hole was always a tricky down-hill par three to what seemed like the narrowest green in golf.
