Feb. 7--No longer Better Business Bureau orphans, Lake and Porter counties have been taken in by the Northern Indiana bureau.
The Fort Wayne-based Better Business Bureau agreed last month to make the two Northwest Indiana counties part of its 23-county service area, President Mike Coil said.
"We want to get you taken care of, to let you know we haven't abandoned you," communications director Marjorie Stephens said.
Norm Stangland, a former television news director in South Bend, has been hired to head a local Better Business Bureau office and is being trained in Fort Wayne, Coil said.
