Feb. 7--After working in Pecos schools for 10 years, middleschoolprincipal Mike Chavez issaying good-bye. At the end of this school year, he will pack up his things and join his wife, Lena Trujillo Chavez, in Artesia, N.M., where she got a job as the Public EducationDepartment's director forRegion 8. "In years past she has been a good wife and traveled with me wherever I moved," Chavez said. "Now that I'm eligible for retirement and she's looking to make a job change, I am able to allow her to pursue her career. "My wife is so excited about taking on a different challenge," he added."
