NEW YORK -- With the aging of the baby boom generation, a common condition is starting to garner more attention.
Clinically referred to as xerostomia and more commonly known as dry mouth, the problem goes well beyond the parched sensation from which most people occasionally suffer.
"Almost everyone has at one time or another experienced the feeling that some describe as 'cotton mouth,' " explains Dr. Harold Crossley, a dentist who suffers from dry mouth. "But chronic sufferers have symptoms that aren't fleeting and may affect their quality of life."
