If anyone thought the road to a nationwide, interoperable, broadband public safety network will be smooth and/or fast, that hope was dashed this morning as those backing the Cyren Call plan and those who think what's available commercially today is good enough duked it out in front of a U.S. Senate committee.
What became apparent in the give-and-take between senators assigned to the Committee on Commerce, Science & Transportation is that the issue is money: who has it, who needs it and who doesn't want to give it up.
