I love getting e-mail from Daily Herald readers and was surprised when a note from Washington, D.C., landed in my inbox.
Writing from the capital, Sheila Franklin posed a question about salad dressing. "I seem to remember you talked about using thickened chicken broth to sub for some oil in salad dressing recipes. ... I have never tried this but found a recipe I would like to try for an Asian-style pasta salad (from Paula Deen) with too much oil in it."
