It's twice the size of the old village hall and has cost $26 million so far. But the new village hall in Arlington Heights is well worth it, trustees say.
At a board meeting this week, trustees and officials defended the cost and size of the new village hall, under construction at Arlington Heights Road and Sigwalt Street.
Phillip Walter, who is running for trustee, raised concerns about the project's rising costs at a Jan. 16 meeting.
In response Monday, Village Manager Bill Dixon drafted a three- page memo that said in 2003 the cost to build the new village hall was figured to be $21.1 ...
