Prime Healthcare has received conditional approval to purchase the South Bay's Paradise Valley Hospital based on a consultant's report conducted for the state Attorney General's office.
The attorney general must still conduct a public hearing--to be held at 1 p.m. Jan. 25 at the Holiday Inn in National City--and then rule about whether to approve the sale.
There have been many concerns in the community about the 301-bed hospital being sold by its current nonprofit owners, Roseville-based Adventist Health, to for-profit Prime Healthcare.
