The Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas recently celebrated its 40th Anniversary event and it is quite amazing what the exhibitors put on show--from the quirky and indispensable technology to gadgets that make you ask 'Are we really going to use these in the future?'.

Well often the answer is yes! The first CES show took place in New York City in 1967 and featured the first solid-state television, as well as the latest in transistor radios, stereos and small-screen black-and-white TVs.
