TALK about sport being cruel. St Ambrose players have never forgotten the pain of being dumped out of the Under 15 Cup quarterfinals in injury time three years ago.
Their chance to wipe out the memory came in the Under 18 quarters on Wednesday but, after the final whistle blew on a 15-15 draw at St Benedict's, Ealing, they made their exit this time on try count.
St Benedict's coach Jesse Coulson said: 'We rode our luck and were just glad to get through. But the mood in the dressing-room reflected a hollow victory. I can't sing St Ambrose's praises enough. They just kept coming back at us.
