Feb. 11--For 24 years of marriage, local poet Manly Johnson has composed a poem for his wife, Fran Ringold, for almost every one of her birthdays, which happen to fall just two days after Valentine's Day. And for all those years, since they exchanged poems on their wedding day, the second union for both, Johnson's bride, now 72, has found her way into more than a few of his poems. And Johnson, 86, has inspired many a poem by his two-time Oklahoma Poet Laureate wife, who is the longtime editor of Nimrod, the literary journal published by the University of Tulsa.
