Feb. 11--Breaking up is hard to do, especially for normally chummy San Jose police officers and firefighters. The two groups are squabbling over how to divvy their shared pension plan now that they've struck separate labor contracts with the city. The dispute dates to December 2005, when the city council approved a labor contract raising police pay and pensions. The firefighters' contract is now in arbitration.
