Feb. 11--The environmental friendliness of alternative fuels is pushing county governments and utilities in Southeast Tennessee and North Georgia to take a hard look at biodiesel, officials said.
But questions about affordability and where to find the fuel make it harder to switch to it, they said.
"It costs as much as regular diesel," said Cleveland, Tenn., City Manager Joe Cate. "It's not a money-saving thing."
On both sides of the border, state officials are pushing to increase biodiesel consumption and production.
