In a column that ran in the Phoenix Gazette, Chris Cobb wrote that Arizona has largely ``escaped'' the national outcry over using American Indians as mascots.
Cobb quoted Nelson Fernandez, a therapist at Desert Vista Hospital in Mesa, agreeing with others who said Native Americans in Arizona are more concerned with trying to make a living and getting an education than focusing on matters _ like team mascots _ that are trivial in the big picture.
