WASHINGTON _ Now that they've slain the Democratic dragon, how well will the unlikely Republican duo of Bob Dole and Newt Gingrich rule their newly conquered congressional kingdom?
Dole, the Republican leader in the Senate, and Gingrich, in line to become speaker of the House, are of different styles, ages and, to some extent, philosophies.
They've had a rocky relationship over the years. Under Republican presidents, they often feuded, but under President Clinton, they discovered a new fellowship in opposition. Neither would be described as having a sunny disposition.
