Abstract
The Blueprint for Mental Health Services in New Zealand has had a major impact on the provision of mental health services in this country. In 2004 the Mental Health Commission consulted with stakeholders to review the current Blueprint which culminated in the publication of 'Te Tahuhu: Improving Mental Health 2005-2015'. Although the review is now complete the purpose of this article is to provide occupational therapists with an understanding of the key factors that led to the establishment of the Blueprint.
