Feb. 16--MISSION -- Milly Smith ate some peanut butter that may contain salmonella bacteria. But not only was she feeling no ill effects, she may even make some cookies with the potentially contaminated sandwich spread.
The three-quarters empty jar of Great Value peanut butter her neighbor Donna Haynes bought at Wal-Mart is part of a federal Food and Drug Administration-mandated recall on peanut butter linked to 300 cases of salmonella poisoning across the United States.
There had been no deaths linked to the contamination as of Thursday, but food safety experts recommend that anyone who bought Great Value or Peter Pan ...
