Feb. 16--June Townes' music is unique enough she felt it warranted its own name: Gospera. "Gospera is a fusion of gospel music and the operatic voice," she said. "What you experience is a unique blend." But more important than the musical style is the message: "Gospera is to me a ministry that is dedicated to spearing the gospel of Jesus Christ through music." Townes, a soprano, will be in Burlington Feb. 25 to sing at Ebenezer United Church of Christ.
A native of Richmond, Va., she lives in New York City. She has been involved with music nearly all of her life.
