EDEN, N.C., Dec. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Fieldcrest Cannon, Inc. (NYSE: FLD) announced today an agreement in principle to purchase the net assets of UTC Holdings, Inc., doing business as Sure Fit. Sure Fit is the leading manufacturer and marketer of furniture covers which include traditional slip covers, throw covers and casual slipovers. The company's products are sold through a broad base of mass merchandisers, catalogs, department stores and specialty retailers. The purchase price is undisclosed and is subject to the parties negotiating and executing a purchase and sale agreement and regulatory approvals.
