ALTHOUGH IT IS UNLIKELY THAT CONGRESS WILL finalize a newly reauthorized No Child Left Behind Act in the 110th Congress, they have begun the process. ACTE is participating in the debate about how to improve the law by encouraging Congress to produce a new NCLB law that is better aligned with the Perkins Career and Technical Education Act and the priorities of CTE educators.
CTE advocates have been wonderfully active in protecting funding for Perkins, and communicating with legislators about the appropriate policies with respect to that law. We must also be engaged in conversations about other laws such as NCLB that undoubtedly have an effect on CTE students and ...
