The effect of formularies on prescribing beyond the health plan.(PHARMACY practice)

In markets that are highly penetrated by managed health care plans, a clinician's prescribing habits may be subject to multiple drug formularies. Some may be restrictive formularies, whereas others may be of the less-restrictive, or open variety, but relatively little literature exists regarding how one formulary may affect overall prescribing behavior.
