The sound board had blown up Wednesday night, the leading man whacked his leg on a set piece, a dancer was out with a bad back and a reed player was absent from the orchestra for a family emergency. Despite these snafus, director Michael Brindisi laughed and relaxed as he sat down for dinner before the first preview of "Easter Parade" at Chanhassen Dinner Theatre on Friday, Feb. 9. At his table were producer Tommie Scallen, choreographer Tam Kangas, Chanhassen general manager Solveig Huseth and Charlie Scatamacchia, vice president for Rodgers & Hammerstein theatricals - in from New York to see the fruits of this maiden voyage.
