The search has begun for a successor to Jim Samples, the former general manager of Cartoon Network, who resigned his post on Feb. 9 in the wake of a controversial marketing campaign for Adult Swim's Aqua Teen Hunger Force series.

The campaign for the show on Cartoon's late-night block, in which 38 light boards shaped like a Mooninite character were placed around Boston, resulted in an anti-terrorism response on Jan. 31 that brought traffic and commuting in the city to a halt and ultimately cost parent Turner Broadcasting System and Interference, the agency that executed the stunt, a $2 million fine to local, state and national agencies ...
