Feb. 20--APPLE VALLEY -- Changes in latitudes and charitable attitudes will be in order Friday when the High Desert Parrot Heads club drives in a caravan of other Jimmy Buffett fans down to La Mision, Mexico for the third annual Baja Run to the Orphanage.
"We fill three to four vans full of stuff," said Linda Bengiveno of Apple Valley and president of the High Desert Parrot Heads, who is known to members as "Linda B."
Buffett fans will deliver supplies ranging from mattresses to toothpaste to the Door of Faith Orphanage, where about 120 children live, Bengiveno said. Last year, the Parrot Heads found a girl at the ...
