Feb. 21--FORT WALTON BEACH -- Okaloosa County commissioners gave preliminary approval Tuesday to a plan that would keep a popular miniature golf course on Okaloosa Island while turning the rest of the Island Golf Center property over to the county. The commission must give final approval to the lease modification with Southern Restaurant Group at a later date. Southern Restaurant Group proposed changing the lease. The company now leases the 35-acre parcel on the island next to the Emerald Coast Conference Center.
