Feb. 21--Fifty students from Yuma's public, charter and private schools want v-i-c-t-o-r-y today.
The 61st annual Yuma County Spelling Bee begins at 10:30 a.m. today in the Yuma Historic Theatre, 254 S. Main St.
It is free and open to the public.
Contestants range in age from third through eighth grade. Each is a finalist from their competing school.
The winner will go on to the state Spelling Bee competition March 31 in Tempe.
The event is organized by Newspapers in Education at The Sun and the Yuma County Schools Superintendent's Office.
