COSTA MESA, Calif. -- Rear Admiral Joseph D. Kernan serves as Deputy Commander for the Naval Special Warfare Command. Naval Special Warfare has played a significant role in Operation Iraqi Freedom, employing the largest number of SEALs (Sea, Air, Land) and Special Warfare Combatant-craft Crewmen in its history.
