Feb. 22--Cautious optimism.
That's the best way to describe Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center and its attitude toward receiving $27 million to build two buildings in Amarillo.
Texas Tech officials are holding their breath, hoping the state Legislature keeps the funding for the buildings in the state budget until the final version passes sometime in May.
The Health Sciences Center in Amarillo needs the buildings for increased student enrollment to meet the nationwide demand of pharmacists and to hold its expanding research efforts, School of Pharmacy Dean Arthur Nelson said Wednesday.
