Alfred Woodward: 1913 -- 2007.

Feb. 22--Alfred Woodward, a prominent Wheaton attorney who served as a judge in DuPage County and on the Illinois Appellate Court, died Tuesday, Feb. 20, of congestive heart failure, his son said.

Mr. Woodward, 93, had lived for the last six years in the Wynscape Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Wheaton, said his son Bob, a best-selling author whose reporting for the Washington Post helped uncover the Watergate scandal.

In a 56-year legal career interrupted only by service in the Navy in World War II, Mr. Woodward was known for the thoroughness of his preparation and a courteous, unflappable demeanor on both sides of the bench.
