Feb. 22--PONCE DE LEON -- Coach Norman Dale said it best.
"There's a, um, tradition in tournament play -- not talk about the next step until you've climbed the one in front of you," he said. "I'm sure going to the state finals is beyond your wildest dreams, so let's just keep it right there."
Those same words could have come from Ponce de Leon coach Tim Alford.
As he prepared the Lady Pirates for their second consecutive trip to the Final Four of the FHSAA Girls Basketball Championships in Lakeland earlier this week, Alford refused to look ahead.
