Even though Memorial Day weekend seems a long way off, momentum starts building toward the holiday on Friday.
That's when supporters of Salute Inc. -dedicated to supporting military personnel and their families - will host their Family Pizza Party, at 6 p.m. at Arlington Trackside, 2200 Euclid Ave., Arlington Heights.
The lively event kicks off their fundraising drive leading up to May 26 with their fourth annual 5K/10K run and 5K walk. For the past two years, the pizza party has drawn 300 people, and organizers Will and Mary Beth Beiersdorf expect just as many this year.
