CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 12, 1994--R.R. Donnelley and Sons Company (NYSE:DNY), the world's largest commercial printer, has decided not to close its Des Moines, Iowa, printing plant.
The announcement follows approval of agreements with local government officials and union employees, which will reduce the plant's overall operating costs.
The company said the unions ratified agreements last weekend, and government officials approved last week an economic incentive package that assumes certain company operating levels and investments in plant upgrades. Over the next several years, these measures will reduce the plant's operating costs.
