REDMOND, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 12, 1994--Cash registers aren't just ringing, they're spinning this holiday season as Donkey Kong Country becomes the fastest selling video game in history.
In only its second week of sales in the U.S., this smash hit video game grossed an additional $15 million, clearly outpacing the sales of its entertainment counterparts: the nation's Number One movie, The Santa Clause, at $11.5 million; and the Number One-selling album, Kenny G's "Miracles: The Holiday Album," at approximately $5.2 million (a).
