Feb. 23--For My Chemical Romance singer Gerard Way, no musical indulgence is too ridiculous, no idea too outlandish--not even the thought of partnering with Liza Minnelli on a bombastic rock album about a dying cancer patient. That ambition pays off handsomely on the New Jersey quintet's latest album, "The Black Parade" (Reprise), easily the most daring mainstream rock album of 2006. The title song alone is composed of 167 tracks of music and sound effects, ranging from glockenspiels to cannon shots.
