The Health Care Network of Wisconsin is forming an organization called the Wisconsin Health Insurance Purchasing Program to accelerate private sector reform of the health insurance market in the state.
The WHIPP plan will promote access to affordable and quality health insurance for emplyees of all employers through a single voluntary structure, which unlike the HCN plan, will include a mandatory standardized set of comprehensive medical benefits, said Jim Wrocklage, chief executive officer of HCN, an employer-sponsored purchasing organization.
