Salazar tells Greeley school officials he will work to improve No Child Left Behind.

Feb. 23--A national law governing the way public schools measure student success will likely stay in place, but not before U.S. Sen. Ken Salazar, D-Colo., and others try to make some changes. The No Child Left Behind Act, which Salazar's office said affects an estimated 750,000 schoolchildren in Colorado, is up for reauthorization this year.

Salazar visited Billie Martinez Elementary School in Greeley on Thursday to talk to teachers, administrators and community members about the law, which affects funding for public schools. He said Congress will most likely extend the law, but he and other senators plan to alter parts of it. ...
