Feb. 23--FORT CARSON -- Sgt. Alexander H. Fuller turned down a desk job in Iraq to stay close to the soldiers he had trained and took on patrols in Baghdad.
Pfc. Michael C. Balsley joined the Army because his father had served in Vietnam and he "wanted his own war stories."
Pfc. Allen B. Jaynes was going to propose to his girlfriend when he came home on leave this month.
All three were members of the 2nd Infantry Division's 2nd Brigade Combat Team and all three were killed last month by roadside bombs in Iraq.
The three men were remembered Thursday at Soldiers Memorial Chapel at Fort Carson.
