In recent years, a troubling trend has continued to gain significant momentum: From coast to coast, local governments are using excise taxes paid by car rental customers to fund new stadiums, civic centers, or other projects.
These taxes have become blatantly unfair for car rental customers, in some cases doubling the daily cost of car rental. On behalf of those consumers and business customers, we feel obligated to speak out.
