The Austrian Post has bought a majority 51% share of Scanpoint Europe Holding GmbH, giving it a position in document digitalization. Terms were not disclosed.
The post describes the acquisition as "opening up new approaches to postal services." It promises to keep expanding in general this year.
Scanpoint is headquartered in Waldbronn, Germany and its core business is the secure, data-protected digitalization of documents. The acquisition should enable Austrian Post to offer its large customers a new type of service, namely the electronic delivery of personal incoming mail.
