THE PUSH FOR BIOFUELS has brought about several problems some that could be dangerous on a global scale.
Corn prices have surged because of the ethanol boom. More Arkansas farmers may be planting corn this year as a result.
But the flip side is the effect on another of Arkansas' major industries --food processors. The increased demand for corn that has driven up the price of feeding chickens, cattle and hogs--and that could soon begin to show at the supermarkets when we buy our meat.
