The impact of global warning is likely to be far worse than previously thought, and even if all current emissions of greenhouse gases were stopped the effects would be still be felt for centuries. These are the conclusions reached in the summary of Climate Change 2007: The Physical Science Basis released by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). The IPCC is now more than 90% certain that global warming is caused by human activity compared with the previous report which had more than 66% confidence the warming was caused by mankind.
