Two French textile firms, Groupe Perrin, France's largest silk fabric weaving group, and Solstiss, a leading producer of Leavers lace, have formed a joint venture (JV) in the U.S. called Solstiss & Groupe Perrin (USA) and are developing some men's wear business.
Francois Damide has been named president of the new subsidiary, which is located at 561 Seventh Avenue, NYC.
The Perrin part of the JV is developing the men's business here, and Damide is enthusiastic about its future. Right now, he told us, he has placed silk and cotton fabrics for men's shirtings and boxer shorts. U.S. customers include Polo/Ralph Lauren for cotton shirtings. Kenzo is a big ...
