Angola on Jan. 1, 2007, became a full-right member-state of the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC). It became the 12th member, joining Algeria, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Libya, Nigeria, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Venezuela.
