Article: Labor situation in Denmark tightens.(Danish Bankers Association )

In a speech to the Danish Bankers Association in Copenhagen on December 6, 2006, the Governor of the National Bank of Denmark, the country's central bank, told the assembled bankers, "The Danish economy is still booming, and there is no sign of any slowdown in the near future."

Denmark's consumers, on the other hand, as reported by Market: Europe last month (18:1) in a "Consumer Insight," are not so sure. Overall confidence fell in December 2006, as did the sub-index gauging consumer feelings over the next 12 months. That sub-index fell by more than half.
