Riise [pounds sterling]1.5m in red as company books make bad reading.

LIVERPOOL defender John Arne Riise is struggling to repay debts of [pounds sterling]1.5 million in his native Norway.

Riise hit the headlines last week after his altercation with team-mate Craig Bellamy and their subsequent goalscoring heroics in Barcelona, but back home he is in the news for the problems surrounding his company, Riise Invest AS.

According to its last set of accounts, from 2004, the firm owes 17.8m Norwegian kroner to a variety of financial institutions and appears to have been in a mess for some time.
