Feb. 26--"History is the light that illuminates the past and a key that unlocks the door to the future," reads a sign in the Trinity Baptist Church Historical Museum.
The quote, from Afrocentric historian Runoko Rashidi, is the perfect illumination of the museum's mission offering a slice of local history through the lens of one of Buffalo's oldest black religious institutions, which turns 90 this year.
The museum, located on the second floor of the Bailey Avenue church, marks its second anniversary.
